I had just created a solenoid Xylophone player, it was a part of process in the Untitled Desires Interactive Project. It had 4 solenoids on D,F,A,C Xylophone bars. Each solenoid can operate by using 3V – 12V DC.

Wires soldered on solenoids run through on a flexible metal thick bars thus the wires were neatly along and behind the Xylophone.

  1. What is the circuitry involved in controlling the solenoids? I wanted to make a 555 controlled solenoid-metronome.
